Crevillent reinforces the integrity training of its public employees with the collaboration of the AVAF

The Training Service of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency has traveled to the Baix Vinalopó region, responding to the request of the Crevillent City Council.

The challenges of public administration in matters of public integrity require responses and training is one of the essential tools to address possible risks that endanger the general interest.

The conference “Integrity, public ethics and fraud prevention in local administration” took place at the Crevillent José Candela Lledó House of Culture with the participation of 88 public employees who join the more than 75 people who have already received training online from AVAF on February 7, 2024.

The Valencian regulatory and institutional framework regarding the fight against corruption was presented in the intervention of Anselm Bodoque, head of the AVAF Training Service.

The importance of promoting the culture of public integrity and the main risks identified in decision-making that can endanger the principles, values ​​and duties of public employees and elected officials focused on the presentation of Pilar Moreno, training technician. from the agency.

The developments and obligations entailed by Law 2/2023 as well as the cycle of anti-fraud measures were presented by Marita Oliver, technician from the Training service of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency.

The conflict of interest focused the workshop that ended the training day, highlighting that the conflict of interest is not corruption. It is identified as a risk situation in which the private, clientelistic or family interest of the decision-maker can interfere with the professional practice of the person who is at the service of citizens.

The Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency reinforces its commitment to training in integrity and public ethics of public employees with this new session and continues with its training presence in the province of Alicante. The Training Service appreciates the collaboration of the Crevillent town council for its interest and commitment in the organization of this day.

High participation in the #DocuforumAVAF of the Universitat Majors de la Jaume I of Castelló

The #DocuforumAVAF activity of the Training Service of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency meets again with the UJI Majors students in 2024.

The Universitat per Majors is a project of the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón with the aim of bringing knowledge closer to society and, specifically in older people, promoting permanent training throughout life.

After the activity at the Vinaròs headquarters, on March 30, 2022, the AVAF training technician, Pilar Moreno, shared with the students of groups A and B of the transversal postgraduate course of the UJI Majors at the Castellón headquarters two training sessions on April 9.

Both sessions had a very high participation of the 124 people present in the classrooms, in the form of reflections and questions. In this way, a very dynamic and enriching debate took place on the importance of preventive controls and the work of anti-fraud agencies.

The two sessions held, lasting one hour each, brought together 54 and 70 students respectively, over 60 years of age, who presented a great deal of knowledge about current events and the situations in which there may be corruption in the public administrations.

The AVAF training technician explained the origin, functions and experience of the AVAF in protecting corruption whistleblowers, fraud investigations and reporting channel, as well as the Agency’s preventive work.

The conferences were held thanks to the interest and collaboration of the professor at the Rovira i Virgili University, Jaime Clemente, who teaches the subject “Practical issues of current law” of the transversal postgraduate course taught by the UJI.

The presence of the AVAF at the Universitat de Majors has been possible thanks to the collaborative relationships of the AVAF with the Universitat Jaume I, committed to the values ​​of ethics and good governance that it promotes among all students.

The Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency continues its commitment to citizens by offering knowledge and awareness-raising activities based on the promotion of the culture of fraud prevention and rejection of ethically reprehensible conduct.

The #DocuforumAVAF arrives at IES Álvaro Falomir de Almassora

The work of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency (AVAF) has been exposed to the 4th year ESO students of the optional philosophy subject at the IES Álvaro Falomir in the town of Almassora, in the Plana Alta region.

Pilar Moreno García, AVAF training technician, traveled to the Castellón town on Tuesday, April 9 with the objective of sharing the fundamental pillars of the Agency: Prevention of fraud, investigation of complaints and protection of informants of corruption.

The young protagonists of the session, thanks to the collaboration of Professor Carmen Ferrete, had the opportunity to get closer to the objectives and functions of the Agency, as well as the situation of the corruption whistleblowers shown in the documentary “Corruption: harmful organism” from Pandora Box TV.

Of great interest were the data related to the number of complaints received at the AVAF. In 2023, 556 complaints were received, 22.73% more than in 2022, 40% of them related to human resources, especially selective processes.

The protection of whistleblowers on regulatory violations offered by the Agency shows that 68% of the protected people are men, 28% women and 2% legal entities.

The students’ concern about the power that citizens can develop over public institutions to demand responsibilities was expressed among the questions posed in the learning session.

The Training Service of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency, with the #DocuforumAVAF activity, has been present since January 2024 in the three provinces of the autonomous community with sessions in the towns of Algemesí, Vall d’Uixó and Jávea.
