On June 13, the Palacio del Cid hosted the conference “Integrity, public ethics and fraud prevention in local administration” organized by the Training Service of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency and the Requena City Council. The institutional welcome was given by the mayor of the town, Rocío Cortés.
In the Open Administration Week 2024, the AVAF wanted to respond to the call of the Requenense council and make visible its commitment to the integrity axis of the VI Open Government Plan 20-24 with the celebration of this new day in this city of the province From Valencia.
Anselm Bodoque, acting director and head of the AVAF Training Service, presented the Valencian regulatory and institutional framework regarding the fight against corruption and the relevance of promoting the culture of public integrity in public administration.
The main risks identified in decision-making in local administration, such as cosmetic transparency or lack of planning, can jeopardize the principles of effectiveness and efficiency that guide the work of public institutions and were developed throughout the session.
Marita Oliver, technician from the Training service of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency, shared with the attendees the news and obligations that Law 2/2023 entails regarding internal information systems and external channels.
The participation of the attending public employee personnel developed throughout the workshop on conflict of interest. It is identified as a risk situation, in which the private, clientelist or family interest of the public decision-maker can interfere with the professional practice of the person who is at the service of citizens.
The Wine Museum hosted 51 public employees during the training session, 37 women and 14 men, from the City Council of Requena, Sinarcas, Ayora, Villargordo del Cabriel, Calpe and the Tierra de Vino Interior Mamcomunidad.
The day included professional profiles as diverse as elected officials, qualified national technical personnel, local development agents, administrative and administrative assistants, and service brigade personnel.
The Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency continues to strengthen its commitment to training in integrity and public ethics of public employees of the Valencian Community. The Training Service appreciates the collaboration of the Requena town council for its interest and commitment in the organization of this day.
