Valencia, April 16, 2026.- The Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency, through a resolution signed by its director, Eduardo Beut, has granted recognition to the career in public service of Jaime Lamo de Espinosa and Michels de Champourcin, for the promotion of integrity and public ethics.
This public recognition will take place on the conference: “Spain today. A vision from integrity and public ethics”, which will take place in the Ausiàs March Room of the Bancaja Foundation Cultural Centre, next Wednesday, April 22 at 12:15 p.m.
A conference that will feature the participation of Jordi Sevilla, former Minister of Public Administrations, Rafael Catalá, former Minister of Justice and Development together with Cándido Méndez Rodríguez, Former Secretary General of the UGT, all of them under the moderation of Gregorio Martín, Professor Emeritus of the University of Valencia.
The director of the Agency, Eduardo Beut, highlighted “this recognition of Jaime de Lamo, who is a family member of our Community and named Adopted Son of Requena, responds to the great performance of his work in improving the implementation of transparency, effectiveness, efficiency and vocation for public service, as well as for his contributions in this sector. having developed functions at the highest political and academic level, both national and international.”
On the other hand, the Agency wants to publicly recognize “its involvement in the defense of the general interests of the administration, being a fundamental actor in the phase of transition and consolidation of the social and democratic rule of law, as well as for the promotion of objectivity, transparency and ethics in the public sector”.
Jaime Lamo de Espinosa y Michels de Champourcin is a Spanish economist, academic and politician with an outstanding career in the public and academic sphere. An agronomist and PhD in Economics, he has been a professor and author of numerous publications focused on agricultural economics, rural development and public policies. His profile combines a solid technical base with extensive experience in institutional management, which has made him a relevant figure in economic and territorial analysis in Spain.
During his political career, he held the position of Minister of Agriculture in the Government of Spain between 1978 and 1981, with Adolfo Suárez and later appointed by Calvo Sotelo as deputy minister to the Presidency in 1982, a key period of the democratic transition. From this position, he promoted important reforms in the agricultural sector and contributed to the modernization of agricultural policies. In addition, he has held various responsibilities in national and international organizations, as well as in the academic field, consolidating himself as an authoritative voice on issues of economy, agriculture and sustainable development.
