Dialogue on the importance of ethics and codes of conduct at the European University of Valencia

The Training Service of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency has given a day on the importance of ethics and codes of conduct in the classrooms of the first year of the Criminology degree at the European University of Valencia.

The debate on the relevance of ethical and behavioral principles between professionals such as criminologists and public employees has focused the session led by Anselm Bodoque, head of the Training Service and Pilar Moreno, AVAF technician at the UEV.

The more than 40 UEV students have actively participated with their reflections and contributions on the importance of professional ethics, codes of conduct as relevant tools and the proper management of conflicts of interest.

The presence of the AVAF at the European University of Valencia has been possible thanks to the collaboration of Professor Cristina Fernández, university professor of the subject of criminology ethics, Susana Berrocal and Lupe Bohórques.

The Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency once again demonstrates its commitment to the education of the leaders of tomorrow who are present today in the university classrooms of the Valencian Community.

The AVAF shares knowledge about internal information systems at a conference in the Region of Murcia

The experience of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency as alert manager and protection body for people who report corruption was presented at the conference on the regulation of the “Internal information system of Law 2/2023. The informant’s mailbox of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia”, organized by the General Inspection of Services of the region and the School of Training and Innovation of Public Administration (EFIAP).

The assembly hall of the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure hosted the day in which the head of the Agency’s Analysis and Research Service, Miguel Furió, presented the experience accumulated in recent years of the AVAF as an external channel of information and authority independent protection of the reporting person.

Issues highlighted during the day were the Informant’s mailbox, its use anonymously and with the protection guarantees provided by the aforementioned law, for the reporting of serious or very serious criminal or administrative infractions and violations of European Union Law.

The 120 participants were public employees of the administration of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, as well as personnel from other public administrations with functions in matters of integrity and public ethics.

The Agency for the Prevention and Fight against Fraud and Corruption of the Valencian Community, with this training session, continues to share its experience as an independent authority for the protection of corruption informants and manager of internal information systems.

The Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency contributes its experience in the protection of whistleblowers at the University of Valencia

The Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency presented its work at the III Conference “Whistleblowing channels in the public and private sector: whistleblowing and whistleblowing protection. Criminal and procedural aspects” organized by the University Institute of Research in Criminology and Criminal Sciences of the University of Valencia.

Teresa Clemente García, deputy director and Legal Affairs of the AVAF, represented the institution with the conference: “The Agency for the Prevention and Fight against Fraud and Corruption of the Valencian Community. Prevention of fraud in the public sector, external reporting channel and protection of whistleblowers.”

The conference took place in the Tomás S. Vives Antón room of the Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València, with José León Alapont, professor of Criminal Law at the University of València, as their director.

The university community attended a conference that brought together around 80 people around issues related to internal information systems and the protection of informants.
