Master Conference of the director of the AVAF at the University of Salamanca

València, 2 de febrer de 2022.- The director of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency, Joan Llinares, has given a keynote speech within the 48th Specialization Course in Law organized by the University of Salamanca.

The conference was entitled “The new legal framework of public integrity as a result of the Whistleblowers Directive and the HFP Order 1030/2021. The function of the Anti-Fraud Agencies” and is part of the “Compliance and management of legal risks” Program co-directed by Fernando Rodríguez-López, dean of the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences of the University of Salamanca

Taking advantage of the visit to Salamanca, both the director of the AVAF and the deputy director, Teresa Clemente, met with Eduardo Fabián Caparrós, director of the Master’s Degree in Anti-Corruption Strategies and Integrity Policies of the University of Salamanca, as a representative of the Study Group Against Corruption (GRESCO-USAL) and the Research Center for Global Governance (CIGG-USAL).

The representatives of both institutions have reviewed the different academic and research actions that have been carried out in recent months based on the Agreement signed last June between the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency and the University of Salamanca and outlined the lines of collaboration and work to be developed in 2022, taking advantage of the excellent results obtained from the internship carried out at AVAF in recent months by doctoral student Cristina Fernández González.

The Valencian Antifraud Agency organizes training actions in schools and institutes of the Valencian Community

València, January 26, 2022.- The “Nuestra Señora de la Salud-Maristas” school in Algemesí has ​​been the first school to hold a training action together with the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency since until now the activities had been held only with students academic.
Aware of the importance of training for the prevention of fraud and corruption, as well as for the creation of public ethics and integrity, the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency has extended these activities to secondary and high school educational levels.
The Marist College of Algemesí has ​​been the first to host this docu-forum activity that has consisted of 2 sessions given in the tutoring subject. In the first session, the students watched the documentary “Corruption: Harmful Organism” which caused a great impact and interest.
In the second session that complements the learning experience, a debate takes place in the classroom together with AVAF technical staff around the questions and suggestions made by the students.
The protection of people who report corruption, the regulation of institutional gifts, as well as the need for greater transparency have been some of the issues that have generated the most debate.
This is the first docuforum action that the AVAF celebrates in schools and institutes and more training actions are already scheduled in various educational centers that have shown interest in offering this training.

Web seminar ‘The role of the media in front of corruption’

On the occasion of the celebration of Journalist’s Day, on January 24, the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency has organized a web seminar on ‘The role of the media in front of corruption’ with the collaboration of the Unió de Periodistes Valencians.

Moderated by the director of the Agency, Joan Llinares, prominent Valencian journalists who write about corruption cases took part in. The webinar was attended by Juan Nieto, correspondent for “El Español” in Valencia, Laura Ballester, editor of “Levante-EMV” and Alberto Rallo, court editor of “Las Provincias”.

During this virtual meeting, topics such as the pressures suffered by journalists in the performance of their work or the possible application of the European Directive on the protection of corruption whistleblowers in the journalistic field were discussed.
