Journalism and integrity: UJI students explore the role of the media in the fight against corruption

Castellón. – February 19, 2025. More than 85 first-year students of the Journalism degree at the Universitat Jaume I de Castellón have participated in the DocuforumAVAF training experience, where they have reflected on the key role of journalism in the fight against fraud in the public sector.

 

Pilar Moreno García, technician of the Area of Training, Participation, Communication and Relations with other entities of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency, shared with the students the importance of journalistic ethics and the commitment to public integrity.

The Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency highlights the importance of internal information systems at the Fisabio Foundation

València, february 18, 2025. More than 120 people participated in the training session organized by the Fisabio Foundation, with the aim of publicizing its internal information system. The session was given by the Training Area of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency (AVAF).

 

Marita Oliver, Training Technician at the AVAF, explained in detail the origin of the obligation to have this whistleblowing channel, its objectives and how it works. He also highlighted the existence of the external information channel in the Valencian Community, managed by the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency.

 

The implementation of an internal information system to receive communications about possible regulatory infringements is a legal requirement in both the public and private sectors.

The General Hospital of Valencia and the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency strengthen integrity in public health procurement

València, February, 13, 2025. The General Hospital of Valencia and the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency (AVAF) have joined forces to strengthen public health procurement from a perspective of integrity and prevention of conflicts of interest.

 

Within this framework, a total of 39 professionals from the technical field participated in a five-hour training day, designed to delve into the principles of public procurement and the risks associated with its management.

 

The session was inaugurated by Ana Cerdán, Deputy Director of Economic and Logistics Management of the General Hospital of Valencia, who highlighted the importance of transparency and ethics in public procurement.

 

Throughout the day, several AVAF experts took part:

  1. Anselm Bodoque, acting coordinator of the Area of Training, Participation, Communication and Relations with other entities, presented the institutional integrity system of the Valencian Community and the role of the AVAF.
  2. Pilar Moreno, training technician, analysed the risks to integrity in public procurement, illustrating them with cases extracted from complaints received by the Agency since 2017.
  3. Marita Oliver, training technician, explained the mandatory information systems according to Law 2/2023 and shared the experience of the AVAF in their implementation.

 

The day concluded with a participatory workshop on the management of conflicts of interest in public procurement, facilitated by the AVAF speakers, in the Lecture Hall of the General Hospital.

 

From the AVAF Training Area, the Economic and Logistics Management of the General Hospital of Valencia has been thanked for its commitment to updating regulations and promoting integrity in healthcare management.
