Seasonal University in Sagunto

On Thursday, November 12, 2020, the 4th edition of the Universitats Seasonals program was held in Sagunto promoted by the Vice-Rector’s Office for Territorial Projection and Society of the University of València with the collaboration of the Valencia Provincial Council, the Sagunto City Council, Caixa Popular and the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency.

On behalf of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency, the Director of Prevention, Training and Documentation, Sílvia Vèrnia, participated, who presented the conference sponsored by the AVAF that was given by Andrés Boix, professor of Administrative Law at the University of Valencia under the title “ Control and prevention of conflict of interest in the field of public management ”.

The conference brought together professionals from different fields who debated the keys to heritage management at a key moment in which the Sagunto City Council has presented the town as a candidate to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Third meeting of the Participation Council of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency

Valencia. November 12, 2020. On Wednesday November 11, the plenary session of the Participation Council of the Valencian Antifraud Agency met, to which associations and entities dedicated to the fight against fraud and corruption belong.

This is the third time that the plenary session of the Council has met and among the issues discussed on the agenda were the analysis of the situation in which the work on the transposition of the European Directive 1937/2019 for the Protection of Complainants to the Spanish legal system. Likewise, reference was made to the Rome Declaration of the Network of European Integrity Authorities and Alerters (NEIWA) to which the AVAF belongs.

Next, the conflict between transparency and confidentiality in the control and investigation bodies was addressed to continue with a presentation by Silvia Vèrnia, Director of the Prevention and Training Area of ​​the AVAF on the follow-up of the proposals made by the working group of prevention and education.

Then Teresa Clemente, Director of the Legal Affairs Area of ​​the Agency presented the work carried out by the group for the protection of complainants that had met a few weeks ago, reporting on the dissemination of the decalogue of principles on the protection of complainants as well as the rest of the activity carried out.

Later, Miguel Ángel Gavilanes from the Civio association was invited to explain the SceMaps project that has been developed in Spain by his association so that the rest of the associations and entities were aware of it.

On this occasion, the World Compliance Association was also invited to attend the Council meeting, which was represented by its vice president, Iván Martínez.

Unisocietat in Cullera

On Tuesday, November 10, 2020, a conference was held in Cullera within the UNISOCIETAT program promoted by the Vice-Rector’s Office for Participation and Territorial Projection of the University of Valencia together with the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency.

The conference was presented by Silvia Vèrnia, Director of the AVAF Training and Prevention Area, and was attended by the Professor of Constitutional Law of the University of València, Rosario Serra, who offered a conference with the title “Are we alone and defenseless against fake news and information manipulation? ”. Once the conference was over, an open debate was held among all those attending.

The UNISOCIETAT program aims to provide training to all those who have a desire to learn by taking the university to different locations in our geographical area.
