#DocuforumAVAF in action. The IES Vila-roja joins the interest in the work of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency

The Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency continues to commit to contributing to the United Nations-led project #UnitedAgainstCorruption, which projects that “youth is the cryptonite of corruption.”

With this objective, the AVAF works with Valencian youth, since through classroom debate, the critical spirit and interest of students who will soon become full-fledged citizens is encouraged.

Last Tuesday, May 7, the Agency’s Training Service returned to the Castellón town of Almassora with #DocuforumAVAF. On this occasion, the 4th year ESO students from IES Vila-roja were the protagonists of the activity and those who had the opportunity to learn about the work of a public institution, unknown to them, the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency.

Pilar Moreno García, training technician, shared with the students of the history subject, the mission of the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency, a public institution, with its own legal personality and attached to Les Corts.

The students actively participated throughout the hour of presentation with their questions and comments. Their interests focused on the retaliation suffered by corruption whistleblowers and they jointly debated day-to-day ethical dilemmas.The possible existence of missing reports received in the AVAF mailbox, as well as the phases in which investigations are carried out after receiving communications to the mailbox, drew the attention of those present.

Thanks to the collaboration of Professor Joan Antoni Trenco, the Agency was able to be present in the classrooms of the IES Vila-roja, showing the most outstanding functions related to the fight against fraud and corruption in the territorial area of ​​the Valencian Community of the AVAF.

Last university #DocuforumAVAF 23-24 at the UJI of Castellón

The students of the subject Territorial Organization of the State of the 2nd year of the double degree in Law and Business Administration at the Universitat Jaume I of Castelló have been the last university participants in the #DocuforumAVAF activity of the 2023 – 2024 academic year of the Agency’s Training Service Valencian Antifraud.

Pilar Moreno, AVAF training technician, visited the UJI classrooms with the aim of introducing the students to the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency, its objectives and its most notable functions related to the fight against fraud and corruption in the territorial area of ​​the Community. Valencian.

Throughout an hour of presentation, the more than 20 participating students showed interest in the AVAF investigations, the retaliation suffered by whistleblowers and the protection provided to corruption informants by the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency.

The presence of the AVAF in this training activity at the UJI was possible thanks to the collaboration of Professor Jacinto Clemente.

With this activity, the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency highlights the importance of educating the leaders of tomorrow in critical thinking from the university classrooms of the Valencian Community.

The director of the Agency presents a Management Balance of the 7 years at the head of the Agency to the Consell de Participació

València, 7 May 2024.- The Consell de Participació is the Agency’s participatory body and is made up of civic and social organisations, as well as individuals, who stand out for their fight against fraud and corruption and for the promotion of ethics and public integrity.

This 10th meeting of the Participation Council took place at the Agency’s headquarters and during the session the proposed law amending Law 11/2016, of 28 November, on the AVAF, presented by the Popular Parliamentary Group, was analysed, as well as the proposals for amendments presented by the Agency to the modification of the Law.

Another item on the agenda referred to the Agency’s proposed amendments to the Draft Law amending Law 1/2022, of 13 April, on Transparency and Good Governance of the Valencian Community, and Law 8/2016, of 28 October, on Incompatibilities and conflicts of interest of people with non-elected public positions,  presented by the Popular and Vox parliamentary groups.

Finally, the director of the Agency, Joan Llinares, took the opportunity to present a balance of his management of the 7 years at the helm of the institution since this is the last occasion on which he meets with the members of the Consell de Participació before his upcoming retirement on May 25.
